Ab Machine Guide

The exercise equipment that is most glorified in the world is the ab machine. Their promotions on TV infomercials are endless and they claim to be the perfect solution for a sagging and ugly stomach.
The important point here is to determine whether ab machines actually function the way they are advertised. Or is it that we are living in a misconception that we can get perfect six pack abs with minimum effort.
Tips to understand the functioning of ab machines:
Listed are some tips for you to make the maximum out of an ab machine. Ab machine should have the following features to give you a good workout:
- Offer a complete range of motion to enable stimulation
- The machine must be cost-effective
- The machine should most importantly aim at the ab muscles
- Ensure that the ab machine makes no false promises
- The machine should be suitable for your body. You must be comfortable on it and it should fit your body.

For a proper workout on your abs, does the machine come within your budget?
Prior to getting in to the ab machine guide let us understand that there is one important function that should be performed by your machine else you can just take the guide and throw it out of your window.
The ab machine should target your obliques and your ab muscles.
For getting a proper work out from your ab machine, it must be able to target lower abs, upper abs, oblique muscles and intercostals. You will be able to develop your abs only if all the core areas are properly trained and stimulated from various angles.
In case the ab machine you want to go for does not aim a the whole abdomen you must simply tick it off and hunt for another machine.
Can the ab machine be adjusted and is it comfortable?
The second most important item on your checklist should be to find out how well you can gain adjustability and comfort from your ab machine.
Majority of ab machines reviewed by me are quite comfortable and adjustable. Though there were a few exceptions.
What is the use if the ab machine aims your abs efficiently but gives problems to your back? In case it is bad for your back you rather not have one! A suitable ab machine must fit your body frame and strength levels. It must not risk you to any injury or strain.
You must very carefully observe the motion and the design of the machine you wish to buy. In case you will have to twist yourself like a pretzel for using it or adjust your body in a position that is injurious to your back, tick it off and hunt for more.Full span of motion provided by the machine:
Once you are sure that your ab machine aims at all core ab muscles, gives you comfort and is adjustable then you must go to find if the machine offers a full span of motion to exercise.
To develop your ab muscles it is required that your machine gives you a full span of motion including a full contraction and full stretch.
In case your ab machine does not provide a full span of motion or might be you are not able to understand if it does, take my advice forget this machine and look for some other one.
Does your ab machine is true to its claims or it is only glorified?
You must have seen all possible ab machine promotions and advertisements on television and many times thought that you want to invest in one. It is not easy to resist the craving of something without paying anything. They make claims like: ‘Do not diet, do not exercise, yet get six pack abs with a few minutes exercise in your day!’
Ha Ha, if it was so simple to get such great abs, the whole world would have well toned super abs!
You must have observed the advertisements for Ab Lounge speaking of a ‘system’ that consists of an exercise plan and a nutritious eating guide. I do not understand the reason they made such statements if you can simply get great abs making use of the Ab Lounge.
What is the cost of an ab machine?
Ab machines are less expensive when you compare them with elliptical trainers or treadmills.
Normally if the price of the product is low, it is more likely that people make a wrong decision than if they were to invest huge sums of money.
A thumb rule when you buy an ab machine that you must remember is that – you should never spend over $100 for any ab machine. In fact, some good ab machines can even cost you as low as $50-75.
You must also beware of introductory scams in pricing like this claim – ‘Try for a day for as low as $1 (or for free) and enjoy a free trial of 30 days, pay later!’
Such companies are aware that you will love their claim and you will order it using credit card and days would pass too soon. After the trial period they will send you a bill for the whole amount that is much more than the machine’s cost price.
Conclusion
Majority of the ab machines in the market are just eyewash. And this is a sad fact. Though there exist a few exceptions but I underline the word ‘few’ here.
In case you expect that you will get wonderful six pack abs if you use the ab machine for a few minutes in your day and forget about your exercise and diet then you are completely on the wrong track.
Ideally ab machines must aim at the muscles of the abdomen, must be very comfortable, never make any false claims, must be cost-effective and offer full span of motion.
This is the most superior ab machine found by me that fulfils all the criteria and also delivers results.
